  We found Chris through a recommendation and viewing one of his conversions.

Project Description:
Chris converted our large single garage blocking off the main garage door and leaving the front of the property unchanged; he installed a window for light and created an internal entrance to access the space from the house. Plaster finish ready for decorating. Chris also installed our wooden flooring.
Project time: 4 weeks.

From the beginning of the process to the end, Chris was polite, focused and had great attention to detail; what we liked was his approach to problem-solving when something wasn't as expected to find a solution. Most Important, we always felt looked after and at ease with him in our home.

Chris works on his own and takes full ownership of the build; he works with a trusted certified electrician, plumber, and plasterer for the tasks he does not do himself.

The garage conversion was generally straightforward overall, we had some complexities around retaining access internally for boiler maintenance, but Chris approached this methodically and came up with a suitable solution to the problem. The project needed little intervention day-to-day and was delivered on budget. Chris discussed all aspects along the way and gave us options when needed regarding light placements, number of plugs, window size etc.

We are delighted with the conversion; we wish we had done it years ago; the space is great! The finish is to an excellent standard, and overall we were super pleased with hiring Chris to do our job and the outcome!   If you're reading this review, then its likely you are sat where I was a few weeks ago, trying to find a reliable builder for a project you've had in mind for a while. Well let me save you some time and research in recommending First Choice Conversions.

Chris came recommend by our neighbour which is always a good start. We did have a few other quotes, but decided to go ahead with Chris based on:

1. Fair pricing
2. We had seen the quality of his work from our neighbours
3. Very responsive and nothing was too much to ask
4. Ensured that we were comfortable along every stage of the project
5. Once we talked him through our idea, he helped bring it to life and was very knowledgable
6. Very down to earth and explained things in layman's terms to help me understand what was going on - I learnt a hell of a lot about lintel during his week here!!
7. All round nice guy with years of experience

He was on time every day, hard working and extremely low maintenance (despite my best efforts to offer him tea and coffee). I never actually saw him stop to take a break and was surprised at how much he managed to complete in a day.

  Really happy we chose First Choice Conversions to covert our garage!

Absolutely pleased with every part of the process from initial quotation all the way through to the completion.  The end result looks fantastic and clearly showcases the skill and experience of Chris and his team.

From the initial visit when Chris came onsite to provide his quote we found him to be very knowledgeable, experienced and meticulous. He took the time to listen and gather all our requirements but also share his thoughts and advice which was very much welcome.

During the building work we had a very good level of communication with Chris – he made it clear at what stage the project is in and the order of works that will be taking place at each stage. During the project Chris was very considerate especially as we’re working from home. Where possible noise was kept to a minimum and Chris did everything he could to contain the dust. After each day Chris made sure to secure the site, clear and sweep up.
